I am Not a Grasshopper

We just finished a great series at River Valley Church called I am Not a Grasshopper. In Numbers 13 Moses sent 11 men out to scope out the land that God had promised to them. When they returned they reported how great the land was and even brought back some of the fruit that the lad had produced. But then they explained that the people in the land were like giants & that they could not fight them. They said, “We seem like grasshoppers in our own eyes”.

Pastor Rob spent the last 3 weeks talking about who we are in Christ and that we are not grasshoppers, we are not insignificant & that God has empowered us to to great things. If you didn’t catch the series you can watch them here. Below are some videos from the series.

Intro video for the series by Mr. Nick Kallies

Dave shares about being encouraged by someone to finish something he had started

Kammi shares about overcoming lies that the enemy throws at her, and how she believes God’s promises instead.

The Yard

•October 20, 2009 • 2 Comments

So we moved into our new house on March 1st.  We bought the house when there was snow on the ground so we really had no idea what the lawn was going to look like.  So when the snow melted, I knew I would have my hands full trying to get the yard up to par.  I took some before photos on May 15 and the after photos were taken on October 11.  So here is what I got done in 5 months.  After I took the before photos I ended up hitting most of the weeds with Round Up & killing almost everything.  So it did get worse before it got better.  I decided to try to seed and fertilize the yard before messing with new sod. Its odd, I never thought I would look forward to rain, but this summer I did.  Check out the before and afters below.

Snow White & The 7 Deadly Dwarfs

We ended The Deadliest 7 Series this weekend.  We put together a video to review the past weeks of the series.  This Nick & I hadn’t planned on being in the video, but some of the “talent” couldn’t make it at the last minute.  Nick did a great job with adding some animation from the movie to this one!

Web discovery of the month – lala.com

So this week I was introduced to a website that I need to pass on.  Its called lala.com and it’s more that just a site to buy music from.  Essentially it’s an online iTunes account where you can listen to all your music from any browser.  I signed up earlier this week and tried it out.  You create a free account and direct it to your music folder on your computer.  It makes an inventory of what you have and creates a collection of the music you have from its library.  If there is music that you have on your computer that the sites doesn’t have then it uploads your music.  Not only that buy you can buy web albums to play on their site for about $1 per album.  You really need to try it out.  I believe this is the future of music.  Once this becomes available on phones the iPod will loose some traction.

Check out Lala.com here.

This was a fun one to work on.  Its acutely a remake of a video we did back in 2003.  I think this one looks a bit better though.  We got the idea for the car crash over at Video Co-Pilot.
